Heart of this distinctive residential area is the Sherman Park Community Association which promotes a host of advocacy, civic improvement, business stimulation, and other cooperative ventures to benefit the people within its boundaries.
Membership in the association, of Milwaukee's oldest and most successful community action groups, includes individuals, families, and area businesses. Besides economic stimulation, the association publishes a monthly newspaper for residents and focuses on such issues as housing preservation, education, beautification of both business and residential areas, mass transit, and neighborhood safety. Its aggressive and effective leadership has carried many awards for the high profile Sherman Park Community Association.
